Upon arrival at the JAC, youth and their families receive comprehensive
screening and assessment tools to assess substance abuse, emotional, physical,
family, school and community functioning. If these issues require specialists,
arrangements are immediately made to expedite involvement with the appropriate
provider(s).
The Juvenile Assessment
Center Youth Intervention Managers work with the youth and their families to develop an
individual service plan. The Juvenile Assessment Center serves youth
that are alleged to be delinquent or undisciplined or are at-risk of becoming
delinquent or undisciplined because they have behavioral problems and have
committed delinquent acts although they may not have been taken into the custody
of law enforcement or have been petitioned.
